About me
Vanessa Bumpus has been at Museum of Worcester since 2002 as Director of Exhibits. Her role is to develop, curate and design exhibits to connect visitors to history through creative storytelling that makes subjects relevant, interactive, and accessible for audiences of all ages. Her work often explores the intersection of local history, innovation, science, and culture, encouraging curiosity through hands-on learning, visual design, and collaborative programming. Some previous exhibits include “The Sky is Not the Limit: 85 Years of David Clark Company”, “Denholms: The Name was Magic” and “Somos Worcester” which highlighted the Latino experience in the city.
She believes that museums have the power to spark curiosity, strengthen communities, and make history meaningful for everyone. She has an MFA in Museum Exhibit Planning and Design from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and BA in Communications from Marymount Manhattan College. She lives in Holden with her husband and two children.
When flying she prefers an aisle seat.
